Aetherium Innovations / Responsible use of AI
AI in service of human creativity.
The world of making is changing. We believe the people who create should have a hand in shaping what comes next.
At Aetherium, we use AI alongside design, engineering, and hands-on craft. We’re putting that experience toward a larger purpose: helping independent artisans and makers learn, create, and make a living from their work.

Access matters.
The technologies changing how things are designed, made, and sold should be useful to the people making a living from their craft.
For an independent maker, access means more than having software. It means understanding a process, finding workable tools, and being able to use them without losing your own direction. We’re investing our time and resources in that connection: practical tools, shared knowledge, and systems that help people do more for themselves.
We want artisans and makers to have a fighting chance to thrive as technology changes, with their creative voice and independence intact.
Inside Aetherium / What we do today
Built through the work itself.
Designing an object, presenting it clearly, and running the business behind it all take different skills. We work with AI across that whole process. Using it ourselves helps us understand where it is useful, where it falls short, and what still needs a person’s attention.
Design & making
More ways to work through an idea.
We work alongside AI throughout design, engineering, and manufacturing: bringing an idea or a practical problem, exploring possible approaches, and refining the result together. In our engineering software, that can mean developing geometry, comparing design options, or using simulations to understand how a design might behave. With scanned objects, it helps refine digital models after we clean the scan data. For manufacturing, we collaborate on writing and auditing the code that guides our machines.
The decisions stay connected to the object and its intended use: we check models against available references, review machine instructions, and use simulations to inform physical testing. Assembly and craftsmanship remain work we do by hand.

Images & storytelling
Help the work be seen.
AI helps us refine product photographs: composition, lighting, backgrounds, text, and consistent branding across a batch. We personally review every final image for a faithful representation of the actual product before upload.
When we explore a concept that doesn’t exist yet, we make it deliberately illustrative. For video, our current approach is to edit and splice footage we’ve recorded, keeping the story rooted in real products and processes.
The business around the craft
Making is only part of the work.
We use AI to help research, prepare listings and educational resources, track project conversations, and interpret business analytics. That work also helps us develop reusable skills and tools to automate portions of the ecommerce process, from presenting products to understanding store activity and keeping up with routine tasks.
An extension of Aetherium
Meet Daisy.
DaisyAI is a technical ecosystem we’re developing for artisans and makers: a digital mentor and working assistant that brings together creative tools, practical knowledge, and the business of making.
It’s how we intend to give more of Aetherium back. The methods we develop through our own projects can become resources other people can understand, use, and build on. The ambition reaches from working through an idea to navigating ecommerce, with learning along the way.

Learn as you make.
A new process shouldn’t stop at an unfamiliar term or a confusing setting. We want Daisy to help explain the next step, work through a problem, and turn a project into knowledge you can use again.
Develop your idea.
Explore possibilities, work through a design, and connect digital thinking with physical making. Smart tools and manufacturing equipment are part of that ambition, with your creative direction guiding the work.
Build a livelihood around it.
Presenting your work, creating listings, keeping up with routine tasks, and navigating online selling all compete for your time. Daisy’s purpose includes that side of being independent, too.
We’re building toward tools that help people do more with their own ideas, develop their skills, and stand on stronger ground in an increasingly digital world. Human creativity is the reason for the technology.
Working with your materials.
We don’t collect or retain customer materials to train AI. AI-assisted tools may process materials to carry out your project, such as refining a digital model from a commissioned scan.
