This is a 6-carat alexandrite-style sapphire, precision cut in a classic Asscher geometry. The Asscher cut is a step-cut design that prioritizes symmetry, depth, and internal structure over raw sparkle. Large open facets and a broad table make cutting quality and material clarity immediately visible, which is why this cut is traditionally reserved for high-confidence stones.

The sapphire-based material shows off the classic alexandrite effect, a teal-to-violet color shift that responds cleanly to lighting changes. Cooler light favors blue-green tones, while warmer light reveals saturated violet and purple. The step-cut Asscher geometry keeps the effect structured and intentional rather than chaotic.

This listing is for the loose gemstone shown. If you are planning a custom piece and want to select the stone before design work begins, this stone is also available as the starting point for a commissioned ring or pendant.
