Blue Wax Ring Tubes for Lost Wax Casting
In stock: 1-3 business days
Long before modern production methods, jewelers carved rings by hand from wax stock like this. Ring tubes simplified the process by giving makers a centered starting point for bands, signets, bezels, and sculpted forms without wasting time roughing out a blank from solid material.
Blue wax is the more forgiving blend. Slightly softer and easier to shape than harder detail waxes, it cuts cleanly while remaining approachable for hand carving, rotary tools, files, and general jewelry work. It’s often the material new jewelers learn on, but still remains a staple in experienced workshops for practice models, organic forms, and rapid design iteration.
This is the kind of material that teaches through use.
It responds well to sharp tools, patient shaping, and steady refinement. Easy to carve, easy to modify, and reliable enough for both practice pieces and finished casting patterns.
