Pink Ruby | Uncut Gems - Lapidary Rough
In stock: 1-3 business days
A collector’s prize, a cutter’s challenge.
Rubies get their color from trace chromium within the corundum crystal structure, often combined with lower iron content that allows for strong UV fluorescence and more vibrant pink coloration.
Pink Madagascar rubies became globally important after major sapphire discoveries near Ilakaka, Madagascar in the late 1990s. Unlike the deep red saturation required for ruby classification in some markets, these stones occupy the softer pink, magenta, and rose spectrum that many lapidary artists specifically seek out for expressive and unusual finished work.
Unlike lab stones, each piece of rough carries its own natural structure and variation. Expect differences in color, translucency, inclusions, surface texture, and crystal form from stone to stone. Some stones may be suitable for faceting depending on orientation, clarity, and the cutter’s ability to work with the material.
Each parcel is photographed individually so buyers can evaluate color, shape, and overall character before purchase. Dimensions and approximate parcel weights are shown directly on the lot images for transparency.
This listing is for natural, uncut rough only. No finished jewelry or cut stones are included.
