Making it the ideal practice material for the aspiring maker.
When alloyed, silver’s mechanical properties shift depending on the secondary metal introduced. The addition of copper increases hardness and wear resistance while maintaining stable casting characteristics. This balance between workability and strength is what defines sterling silver as a functional material for long-term use.
